For decades we’ve been expecting the Flying Car. Paul Moller’s M400 looked quite promising, but never seemed to quite get off the ground (as it were).
But things changed a little while ago.
I think the M400 got pipped at the post. That’s to say, it’s still the only VTOL in the running – but it’s not the only car-like entry in the race. In fact, I think the race may be all but won as far as the non-VTOL card is concerned. See what you think:
IMHO (in fact IMNSHO), the Terrafugia Transition has shown the way forward, with a vengeance. Full, untethered flight – more than one – and no lakes in sight. Check out the rest of the multimedia that the site makes available, including interviews with the test pilot.
Sure it’s a little ugly. Something only a mother could love.
