That’s Supreme Court, not Situation Normal.
How could anyone with a brain make such a decision as did the SCotUS recently, when it ruled on Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission? I disagree with the take that other bloggers (such as Ed Brayton) have on the ruling – I think many may have missed the key issue.
It’s not that corporations in the US will tighten the grip they already have on government, but that governments outside the US will instead exert a grip that they were never able to before.
It doesn’t take too much thought, IMHO, to work out the shortlist of countries with an ax/axe to grind and the wherewithal to sharpen it.
If you thought elections were bought and paid for in the past, that’s not a patch on what might be coming. Welcome to exogovernance.
